Governor’s Internship Program (posted 7/21/10)
The Governor’s Intern Program is looking for bright, hardworking and enthusiastic people to intern at the State Capitol during fall 2010. Interns work in a fast-paced environment and enjoy many opportunities to learn more about politics, state government and the legislative process.
Each intern is assigned to a department within the Governor’s Office based on his or her interests and skills. Potential placements include Policy, Communications, Government Affairs, Executive Appointments and Constituent Services.
The application process is highly competitive. Applicants may be college juniors or seniors, recent graduates or graduate students. All majors are encouraged to apply and interns will receive an hourly stipend based upon their education level. The fall internship will start August 23rd and end December 17th. Interns are required to work 20 to 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities will include:
· Assisting the sales team in pursuing and closing new business

Wanted: Energetic, hard-working interns seeking to gain political experience and knowledge through a campaign internship. Interns should be proficient in their use of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and have an overall “Bring It On” attitude when it comes to supporting Karen Handel in her efforts to be Georgia’s next great Governor!

· Organize/ help at events (hand out stickers and information, get volunteers)

· Gather data (events, biographies, county profiles)
